Kabale Police Arrest 40 Suspected Criminals Instilling Fear Among Residents

Police in Kabale District have apprehended 40 suspected criminals who have been instilling fear among residents in Kabale municipality.

According to the Kigezi police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, one of the apprehended individuals is Solomon Musinguzi, also known as residing in Karugashi cell, Butobere ward, Central division. Musinguzi, believed to be the ringleader of the criminal group, was apprehended from Bombocha entertainment center on March 26, 2024.

ASP Maate said some of them were arrested with opium, housebreaking devices and suspected stolen items and they could not account for what they did. Maate also cautioned people who normally move at night to avoid lonely movements and isolated routes and advised the community that once they are attacked, they should report to the police.

Maate emphasized that such law enforcement operations will persist to root out criminal elements within Kabale municipality and the surrounding region until peace and order are restored. He urged the public to promptly report any suspicious activities to the police and other relevant security agencies, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in combating crime and ensuring community safety.

Gordon Ariho, one of the victims of these criminals narrated that he was attacked by machete wielding thugs yesterday morning at around 5:00 Am after arriving in Kabale aboard gateway buses and robbed him of his belongings.
