The Bishop of Kigezi Diocese, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, has called on students to uphold discipline and ethical values as key ingredients for success and a bright future. He made this appeal today during a confirmation and dedication service held at Kabale Brainstorm High School in the Southern Division of Kabale Municipality.
The service saw 48 students confirmed into the Anglican faith, with special prayers offered for Senior Four and Senior Six students as they prepare for their final exams. Bishop Akanjuna emphasized the importance of discipline, encouraging students to cultivate strong ethical values and maintain their faith in Christ despite the challenges they may face.
“We live in a world full of frustrations and temptations, but young people must remain hopeful in Christ,” said Bishop Akanjuna. He further advised students to abstain from sex, remain committed to God, and become responsible members of society. “Some youth are abandoning their studies and engaging in conflicts over family land. This behavior must change if we are to build a better future,” he added.

Rev. Robertson Agaba, the Dean of Students at Bishop Barham University College and Diocesan Youth Worker, delivered a powerful sermon during the service. He urged students to be mindful of their time and actions, highlighting that their present efforts will significantly impact their future.
“Success comes through a combination of hard work, humility, patience, and trust in God’s plan,” Rev. Agaba said. He encouraged students to focus on their personal development, academic excellence, and spiritual growth, stressing that their future success depends on these factors.
