Educationalists asked to Unite for Academic Achievement at Different Levels

The Kigezi Diocesan Education Coordinator, Drake Mutahakana, has called upon teachers and administrators to embrace cooperation, hard work, and to monitor the discipline of the students in order to maintain better performance of the school.

He made this call today while speaking as the guest of honor during the handover ceremony for the headteacher, whereby Naturinda Dalitone Mashiija handed over the office to Tumwine Joseph Chaka as the new head teacher of Buranga Secondary School. The function was held on the school premises in Ndorwa West Constituency.

Mutahakana thanked the outgoing headteacher for a job well done, expressing confidence in the incoming headteacher. He called upon them to collaborate closely with teachers and board members to improve the school’s performance.

He added that Buranga Secondary School used to perform well in national exams, and they are looking forward to reviving that spirit so that the school performs excellently. He emphasized that this can be achieved only through cooperation among teachers and good discipline from both teachers and students.

Naturinda Dalitone Mashiija, the outgoing headteacher, expressed gratitude to the students, teachers, board of governors, and alumni for their cooperation and support during his tenure. He urged them to extend the same level of cooperation and support to the incoming headteacher.

He also encouraged the incoming headteacher, teachers, and students to reach out to him for consultation whenever needed, emphasizing his continuous availability and support.


Speaking during the same function, Tumwine Joseph Chaka, the incoming headteacher, pledged to collaborate with teachers, parents, alumni, and students to transform Buranga Secondary School into a model school in Ndorwa West and the country as a whole.

He emphasized promoting good discipline among the students and nurturing their spiritual growth as essential components of this transformation.

Tumwine Joseph Chaka has been serving as the deputy headteacher of Kigezi High School for nine years.
