Hon. Andrew Baryanga Aja, Chairman of the Kigezi High School Primary Lower Old Students’ Association, has urged Primary Seven candidates to work hard and focus on their studies to achieve a bright future. His message, delivered by Vice Chairperson Tumwine Joseph Chaka during the old students’ visit today, emphasized the importance of education as a path to success, regardless of one’s background.
Hon. Aja reminded the students that education allows even those from humble beginnings to “sit at the same table as the rich,” urging them not to lose hope but to push through challenges. He noted that their visit, along with success wishes, was meant to motivate current candidates and inspire them to excel in their upcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
He also commended the teaching staff for their dedication and encouraged them to intensify efforts in the final days leading up to the exams, aiming for top results that would continue to elevate the school’s standing.

He reported that the syllabus had been fully covered and that the students were well-prepared for the exams. He thanked the old students for their ongoing support and encouragement, which has helped motivate both current students and candidates.
Apollo said, “The students have been provided with sufficient content, and we are confident they will perform well. We look forward to continued collaboration with our old students to further improve the school’s future.”

In a show of further motivation, the association presented all 71 candidates with mathematical sets, long rulers, pens, and textbooks for revision—materials valued at one million shillings. Additionally, they announced cash rewards: one million shillings for any student who scores an aggregate of four, and five hundred thousand shillings for those scoring an aggregate of five in the upcoming PLE.
This year’s PLE exams are scheduled to take place from November 6th to 7th, according to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB).
