Francis Tukwasibwe, the patron of Buranga Old Students’ Association, has emphasized the importance of discipline and academic focus for students to achieve success in life. Speaking at the Buranga Secondary School reunion ceremony held today at the school premises, Tukwasibwe highlighted that dedication to studies is a crucial factor in ensuring a prosperous future, regardless of the school attended.
Tukwasibwe assured the gathering of students and alumni that success is attainable for anyone who prioritizes their education. “One doesn’t need to be in a top school to succeed in life,” he remarked, underscoring that consistent effort and focus are key determinants of future achievements.
In his address, Tukwasibwe also urged school administrators to establish long-term plans. These plans, he noted, would serve as a guiding framework for future administrations, parents, and teachers, thereby ensuring the continuous advancement of the school. He further mentioned the active involvement of alumni in various projects aimed at supporting the school, such as a bursary scheme and a motivational program, as a testament to their commitment to giving back.
Wilberforce Nkinja, president of the Buranga Old Students’ Association, echoed Tukwasibwe’s sentiments by calling for enhanced cooperation among the school’s administrators, teachers, and students. “To raise the flag of our school, unity and collaboration are essential,” Nkinja stated.

As a tangible gesture of their commitment, the alumni pledged to furnish the girls’ dormitory with all necessary beds, showcasing their dedication to improving the school’s infrastructure. This pledge is part of a broader initiative by the alumni to support the school through various projects and programs.
The reunion ceremony, marked by heartfelt speeches and pledges, underscored the strong bond between the current students, alumni, and the administration of Buranga Secondary School. The collaborative spirit and shared vision for the school’s future were evident as attendees celebrated their shared heritage and committed to the school’s ongoing development.
