Hajjat Hadija Nyamyalo, head of the Office of the National Chairman NRM (ONC) and the Chief Muzukulu has urged the residents and leaders of Rukiga District and Ugandans at large to prioritize national development and unity over political divisionism.
She made these remarks during the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) wealth creation and empowerment event held at Kantaare Playground in Kashambya Sub County of Rukiga District yesterday.
Hajjat Nyamyalo emphasized the necessity of leveraging the peace and stability achieved under President Museveni’s leadership as a foundation for further progress. She cautioned against the divisive tactics employed by some politicians for personal gain, highlighting how such divisionism undermines Uganda’s growth and prosperity.
“The peace we enjoy today is a result of significant sacrifices,” Nyamyalo stated. “We must use this peace to drive our development forward, focusing on improving infrastructure, education, and healthcare. Unity is crucial for achieving these common goals.”
Nyamyalo reassured the audience of her dedication to serving rural communities, ensuring that development funds are utilized efficiently and transparently. She emphasized that her efforts are driven by a genuine commitment to public service rather than personal enrichment.
“I am here to serve the people, to ensure that every penny allocated for village development is spent wisely and reaches those who need it most,” she affirmed.

At the same event, Rukiga District Woman MP Hon. Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi expressed the community’s deep frustration over the unfulfilled presidential pledge to tarmac the Muhanga-Kisizi Road. Kamusiime, who also serves as the Rukiga District NRM Vice Chairperson, appealed to Hajjat Nyamyalo to urge President Museveni to expedite the necessary plans for the road’s development.
“Despite numerous promises from government officials, the condition of Muhanga-Kisizi Road remains poor,” Kamusiime lamented. “This significantly impacts our daily lives, hinders economic activities, and limits access to essential services. Our people deserve better, and it is our duty as leaders to fight for their rights.”

The Rukiga District Empowerment Program highlighted both the accomplishments and ongoing challenges faced by the community. While the event underscored the government’s efforts to promote grassroots development, the locals’ dissatisfaction with unfulfilled promises calls for renewed attention and action from national leaders.
Hajjat Nyamyalo’s message of unity and focus on development resonates as a crucial step towards addressing these issues and ensuring a brighter future for Rukiga District.
