Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) residing in a community home in Ndorwa Cell, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality, have appealed for assistance as their housing structures continue to deteriorate, leaving them exposed to heavy rains and floods.
The PWDs raised these concerns today while receiving relief items from a team led by Namanya Job Apuuli of Vision Group. The visit was part of activities leading up to an event dubbed the “Job Apuuli Experience,” scheduled for this Saturday at White Horse Inn, Kabale.
The event marks 12 years of Namanya’s distinguished career in the media industry, spanning roles in radio broadcasting, news writing, reporting, deejaying, and emceeing. While celebrating his achievements, Namanya aims to give back to the community by supporting the less fortunate.
Namanya and the White Horse Inn team visited the Kikungiri Culture and Community Development Building in Kabale Municipality. During their visit, they interacted with PWDs and distributed essential items such as maize flour, soap, and salt.
Namanya highlighted the purpose of the donation, emphasizing the need to include PWDs in the celebrations and demonstrate compassion towards them. Reflecting on his own life, he shared how he survived an accident that left him with a disability, reminding everyone that disability can affect anyone and should inspire empathy and support.
