Aja Cup Tournament in Kabale Municipality Continues to Draw Enthusiastic Support from the Community

As the Aja Cup Football Tournament progresses in Kabale Municipality, the event has already garnered significant attention, with organizers and participants expressing their appreciation for the strong community support.

In an exclusive interview, Tumukunde Kenneth, the tournament supervisor, praised Hon. Andrew Baryayanga, the chairman of the organizing committee and former Member of Parliament for Kabale Municipality, for his invaluable contribution to the event. Tumukunde noted that the tournament is not only a celebration of football but also an opportunity for local youth to develop their talents, showcasing Kabale on the map as a hub for sports excellence.

“The Aja Cup is an incredible platform for the youth in Kabale to showcase their skills and passion for football. We are grateful to Hon. Baryayanga for his continued support, which has made this event possible. His vision will help put Kabale on the national sports map,” Tumukunde remarked.

Tumukunde also expressed his heartfelt thanks to the participants and spectators for their discipline and dedication throughout the competition. He called on everyone to maintain this positive spirit and good conduct until the end of the tournament. “We appreciate the players for their commitment and the spectators for maintaining a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. On his part, Mutaremwa Frank, the Chairman of the Aja Cup Tournament, also extended his gratitude to the people of Kabale for showing up in large numbers to support the event. He encouraged them to keep the same enthusiasm alive after the Christmas break when the tournament resumes on December 26, 2024.

“We are extremely pleased with the turnout and the level of support from the community. The spirit shown by the players has been fantastic. They have shown up on time, maintained discipline, and are giving their best on the field,” Mutaremwa said. “We urge everyone to keep the same energy after the festive season and support the tournament through to the grand finale in January.”

The Aja Cup Tournament, which kicked off on December 16, 2024, features 12 local teams from Kabale Municipality, competing for the coveted title. The tournament is scheduled to run until January 26, 2025.
