His Grace Dr. Samuel Stephen Kaziimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, today urged graduands to embrace humility, reminding them that with humility, they will never truly lose everything.
The archbishop shared these messages today during a commissioning ceremony for 561 graduands at Uganda Christian University, Bishop Barham University College, in Kabale, Northern Division.
He advised graduands to respect their supervisors, practice humility, and value their colleagues, as these actions foster a positive work environment.
His Grace Dr. Kaziimba highlighted the importance of upholding values and servant leadership, emphasizing that these qualities align with UCU’s mission as a centre of excellence. He assured the graduands that by following these principles, they would find success in their careers and lives.
He also encouraged graduands to prioritize cooperation, collaboration, connection, creativity, and consultation, noting that these attributes contribute to shared success.
The archbishop, who also serves as Chancellor of Uganda Christian University, urged graduands to seek God’s guidance in all their endeavours.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddi Akanjuna, also addressed the graduands, encouraging them to face the world with resilience and not let challenges deter them. He advised them to put their trust in God, reminding them that the same God who guided them through the challenges of school has a plan for their future.
Bishop Akanjuna asked the graduands to trust and obey God if they wish to achieve success.

Dr. Alice Jossy Kyobutungi Tumwesigye, Principal of Uganda Christian University Bishop Barham University College (UCU-BBUC) urged the graduands to be ambassadors of the university wherever they go, reminding them that people will view them as representatives of UCU-BBUC, as well as ambassadors of God.
She emphasized that they have been equipped with knowledge from the university and encouraged them to serve others with humility, integrity, and a unified heart, as if they are serving God.
