Diocese of Kigezi Clergy Urge Christians to Embrace Peace, Love, and Unity to Mark the New Year

The Archdeacons from the Diocese of Kigezi have called upon Christians to embrace peace, love, and unity within their families and workplaces during this Christmas season, emphasizing that these virtues lead to success.

While delivering his Christmas Day sermon at All Saints Church, Kabale, where a large number of Christians had gathered for Christmas prayers, the Archdeacon of All Saints Church Archdeaconry, Ven. Rev. Namanya Emmanuel Bwagye, stressed the importance of these values. He reminded congregants that the primary reason Jesus Christ came to earth was to bring peace, love, and unity to people’s families and workplaces.

Ven. Namanya urged Christians to maintain harmony with their children, for husbands to live peacefully with their wives, and to nurture strong relationships with friends and neighbours.

He emphasized that unity in families can prevent any destructive plans by Satan, encouraging Christians to rely on Jesus Christ as their defender.

He further stated that when believers trust in God with all their hearts, He will provide for their needs.

Meanwhile, Rev. Can. Amos Tweteise, the Archdeacon of Kikungiri Archdeaconry, speaking at St. Mark’s Kikungiri Church of Uganda Parish, advised parents to prioritize the safety of their children during the long holiday. He cautioned that many individuals with harmful intentions might target children if parents are not vigilant, noting a rise in child abduction cases.

Rev. Tweteise also reminded the public that, while celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ is essential, they should prepare for the upcoming school term. He advised parents to spend cautiously during the festive season, considering the financial demands of the new school year.

He concluded by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
