In a stirring address, the Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, exhorted members of the Diocese of Kigezi Cooperative Savings and Credit Society LTD to embrace patriotism as a cornerstone for the enduring prosperity of their SACCO.

The bishop, serving also as the patron of the cooperative society, delivered his impassioned plea during the annual General Meeting convened at the esteemed Mother’s Union Hall in the bustling central division of Kabale municipality.

With unwavering conviction, Bishop Akanjuna underscored the pivotal role of steadfast dedication in ensuring the SACCO’s triumph. He implored members to embody genuine commitment and ardor for the SACCO’s mission, urging the newly elected officials to champion the interests of their constituents and aspire for their SACCO to serve as an exemplar for others nationwide.

In a complementary address, Natumanya Erasmus, the esteemed District Commercial Officer of Kabale District Local Government, offered pragmatic advice to the committee. He emphasized the importance of crafting a robust business strategy aligned with market dynamics and advocated for meticulous planning and budgeting to propel the SACCO’s sustained growth.

Mr. Erasmus called upon members to rally behind shared objectives, action plans, and governance structures outlined by the board and management, asserting that effective SACCO development hinges upon adept leadership and prudent stewardship.

Echoing the sentiment of expansion, Rev. Can. Milton Nkurunungi, chairman of the executive committee and diocesan secretary for Kigezi Diocese, outlined ambitious plans to broaden the SACCO’s footprint. He revealed intentions to relocate the main offices to a more centrally located site and to establish satellite branches to enhance service accessibility for patrons.

Rev. Can. Nkurunungi implored church leaders and institutional heads across archdeaconries to galvanize efforts in augmenting SACCO membership, thus fortifying marketing avenues and outreach strategies.

Established in 2015, the Diocese of Kigezi Cooperative Savings and Credit Society LTD presently boasts a membership tally of 1454 individuals, with operations centered around a singular branch.
