Bishop Gaddie Akanjuna Inspires Students to Embrace Hard Work and Faith at Uganda Christian University

In a heartening address to students, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, encouraged learners to work diligently and remain faithful; emphasizing that God is the key to their success.

Speaking during his pastoral visit to Uganda Christian University’s Bishop Barham University College (BBUC) at Rugarama Hill in Northern Division of Kabale Municipality, Bishop Gaddie underscored the importance of accountability and purpose.

“Be accountable for what you are doing at school,” urged Bishop Gaddie. “God wants to see if the purpose He created you for is being fulfilled.” He reminded the students that nothing is hidden from God and that they should believe in His plans for them.

The bishop also stressed the importance of hard work, not only for personal success but also to make their caregivers proud.

BBUC Principal Dr. Alice Jossy Kyobutungi spoke about the university’s commitment to spiritual growth alongside academic excellence. She highlighted the various activities that shape students spiritually, including morning devotions, community hours, Sunday services, and a mission week every semester. Dr. Kyobutungi affirmed, “There is Christianity along with academics at the university.”

Bishop Gaddie’s visit and words of encouragement have left a lasting impression on the students, reinforcing the university’s mission to integrate faith and education.
