The State Minister for Finance in charge of General Duties, Hon. Henry Musasizi, who also serves as the Rubanda County East Legislator, has commended Hon. Roland Ndyomugyenyi Bish, the Rukiga County Legislator, for his remarkable contribution to education.
He says that Hon. Bish’s efforts to pay school fees for over 100 students, significantly promotes literacy among children and youth in the region.
Minister Musasizi made these remarks during the funeral service of the late Asinasi Tujwerirwe Ndinbirwe, Hon. Bish’s sister, held yesterday at Nyikunama Playground in Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga District.
“Hon. Bish’s commitment to education is truly inspiring. By supporting the education of over 100 students, he is investing in the future of our community and ensuring that our children have the opportunity to succeed,” said Musasizi.
“I have spent 13 years in parliament but I don’t have all these children that I look after. I could have done more schools than him, but he has paid fees more than I have done. Hon. Roland is such a gift from God,” said Musasizi.
Rt. Rev Gaddie Akanjuna the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, who delivered the sermon during the funeral service, also praised Hon. Bish’s philanthropic efforts. “Hon. Bish’s generosity reflects the spirit of Christian love and service. By prioritizing education, he is embodying the values of compassion and selflessness that we hold dear,” Bishop Akanjuna remarked.
Hon. Roland Ndyomugyenyi Bish, in his address, shared his personal motivation behind his support for education. “I used to have challenges at school because of the lack of fees. When I got some money, I said I have to help people on fees and this was even before i got to parliament,” he said, reflecting on his own struggles and the desire to alleviate similar burdens for others.
He also revealed that he currently pays fees for 106 students and hopes to add more each year with the aim of helping them achieve their goals.
Thousands of community members gathered at Nyikunama Playground to pay their respects to the late Asinasi Tujwerirwe Ndinbirwe and celebrate the enduring legacy of support and service demonstrates who died at the age of 78.
