Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi has called on students to embrace Christian values and virtues as a cornerstone for achieving academic success and thriving in life. His message was delivered today during a special dedication service for learners preparing for their P7, S4, and S6 national exams at Hamurwa Academy, Nyaruhanga High School, Hope High School, Bubaare Primary School, Bubaare Secondary School, and other schools within Bubaare Archdeaconry in Rubanda District.
Bishop Akanjuna reminded the students that a foundation built on Christian principles would not only bring them closer to God but also guide them toward success. “To excel in life, you must remain rooted in the Christian values that will help shape your future,” he emphasized. He further urged the students to set clear goals and visions for their lives, warning that without direction, they would face challenges ahead.
He also highlighted the need for dedication, motivation, and focus in achieving their goals. “Success is built on commitment and focus. You must set your targets and pursue them with determination,” Bishop Akanjuna advised.

In his sermon during the service, Rev. Robertson Peter Agaba, the Youth Worker in the Diocese, echoed the Bishop’s call by encouraging the learners to use their remaining time wisely as they prepare for their exams. He reminded them that success requires hard work, forming meaningful relationships, perseverance, and courage.
Rev. Agaba urged the students to rely on these pillars and also seek guidance from God. “Build stronger relationships with your teachers, stay focused, and avoid distractions that could interfere with your academic progress,” he advised.
