Bishop Rubaramira Leads Kabale Diocese in Jubilee Year 2025 Inauguration

Christians filled the grounds of Our Lady of Good Shepherd Rushoroza Cathedral BAAF to celebrate the grand inauguration of the Jubilee Year 2025 for Kabale Diocese. Themed “Pilgrims of Hope,” the event brought together thousands of faithful and notable dignitaries, including Hon. Catherine Ndamira Atwakiire, Kabale District Woman MP, and Hon. Nicholas Thaddeus Kamara, Kabale Municipality MP among many others.

The Holy Sacrifice of Mass, presided over by the Rt. Rev. Bishop Callist Rubaramira, set the spiritual tone for the day. In his homily, Bishop Rubaramira urged Christians to embrace the Jubilee as an opportunity for spiritual renewal, reflection, and commitment to their faith.

“Let this Jubilee Year be a time for all of us to deepen our faith, embrace hope, and grow in charity,” the Bishop proclaimed.

The ceremony also marked the conclusion of a three-day youth conference held at the same venue. The gathering brought together young people from across the diocese to engage in meaningful discussions about the challenges they face and the ways they can grow spiritually and socially.

Addressing the youth, Hon. Nicholas Thadeus Kamara delivered a strong message against vices such as gambling, drug abuse, and alcoholism. He emphasized the importance of education as a cornerstone for building responsible and productive citizens.

“Education is your key to a brighter future. Focus on your studies, and steer clear of distractions that can derail your potential,” Kamara urged.

His words resonated deeply, inspiring many young attendees to reflect on their choices and commit to positive changes in their lives.

The theme “Pilgrims of Hope” was woven throughout the day’s celebrations, serving as a poignant reminder of the enduring role of faith and hope in overcoming life’s trials.

As the diocese embarks on its Jubilee Year celebrations, the Catholic community looks forward to a year filled with activities and initiatives aimed at fostering spiritual growth and strengthening bonds of faith.

The event concluded with joyful hymns and a shared sense of renewal among attendees, setting the stage for a transformative year of faith, hope, and charity in Kabale Diocese.
