Christians Urged to Leave a Lasting Legacy Through Good Deeds

Reverend Gad Babwekyeka has called upon Christians to engage in good deeds that leave a lasting legacy, emphasizing the spiritual and communal importance of giving. He delivered this message while leading a fundraising service for the construction of a church pulpit at Nyakahita Butobere Church of Uganda in Kyanamira Sub County.

The service brought together community members in a united effort to support the project, underscoring the power of collective action in achieving significant milestones for the glory of God. Reverend Babwekyeka encouraged Christians to embrace generosity, citing biblical teachings such as Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.”

Prominent among the contributors was Dr. Protazio Begumisa, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairperson for Ndorwa East Constituency. Dr. Begumisa echoed Reverend Babwekyeka’s sentiments, highlighting that giving to God and the community is never in vain. To demonstrate his commitment, he donated 500,000 Ugandan shillings towards the church pulpit project.

“Building for God brings blessings, not losses. It’s an investment in our faith and community,” Dr. Begumisa stated, inspiring others to follow suit. His actions aligned with biblical principles of service, as outlined in 1 Peter 4:11: “Whoever renders service, as one who renders it by the strength which God supplies, in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.”

The fundraising service was hailed as a great success, drawing overwhelming support from residents eager to contribute to the construction of the pulpit. Reverend Babwekyeka noted that such efforts strengthen community bonds and reflect the commitment of Christians to their faith and heritage.

“By engaging in good works, we glorify God and leave a legacy for future generations,” Reverend Babwekyeka said, challenging Christians to be the light in their communities.

The event served as a reminder of the transformative impact of generosity and collective action, with Nyakahita Butobere Church of Uganda now closer to realizing its goal of constructing a new pulpit, a symbol of worship and dedication to God.
