Eliab Mporera Naturinda Promises Seamless Leadership Transition in Ndorwa West for 2026 Elections

In a bold declaration, Eliab Mporera Naturinda, CEO of PHLEB Associated Advocates, has pledged to continue the work of incumbent Minister David Bahati, vowing to pick up where he leaves off in Ndorwa West constituency during the upcoming 2026 elections.

Mporera’s statement has brought hope to many who are eager for a seamless transition in leadership.

A lawyer by profession and a businessman with various enterprises, including real estate in Kampala, Mporera expressed his readiness to build on Minister Bahati’s achievements. He emphasized his commitment to working with all leaders, including those who initially opposed him, to ensure unity and progress.

“As far as politics is concerned, I am ready to begin where my current Member of Parliament will have stopped. I am ready to work with everyone who supports me, and for those who did not support me, after my victory, my team and I will ask them to join us so we can work together because that is what a calling entails. I’m ready to take the baton from Minister Bahati and build on his achievements,” Mporera said in a one-on-one interview with Kigezi Television.

Mporera’s commitment has been welcomed by many, signaling his dedication to the people of Ndorwa West. His focus on continuity and progress sends a strong message that leadership is about serving the nation and its people. When asked about his priorities during the interview with Kigezi Television, Mporera highlighted his focus on education, mentorship, and agriculture. He aims to work closely with the government to ensure inclusive education, introduce a mentorship program for students, and concentrate on agricultural development within the communities.

“Some of the challenges in the constituency, of course, include poor roads; the conditions are not good. I know the government sends money, so as a Member of Parliament, you must establish a community vigilante group that can always update their members, and once we do that, it helps us to move forward.

The other challenge we have is that people in Ndorwa West hate each other. Actually, I didn’t know until I joined the race. People don’t talk to each other because of the political environment,” Mporera says.

Mporera also acknowledged the challenges faced by Ndorwa West, including poor roads, political animosity among voters, and inadequate schools, despite Minister Bahati’s long tenure. He emphasized the need for community vigilance and unity to address these issues.

Expressing his appreciation for Minister Bahati and other leaders who have served Ndorwa West, Mporera stressed the importance of passing the baton to upcoming leaders. He asserted that financial inducements would not sway him, focusing instead on community service and satisfaction. He highlighted the need for decisive leadership and stated his determination to contest as a Member of Parliament.

Despite the political pressure in Ndorwa West, Mporera is hopeful of emerging victorious in the 2026 elections. Minister of State for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, David Bahati, has served Ndorwa West for 18 years and aims to secure a fifth term in the 2026 elections.
