Isaac Rurihoona, former LC3 Chairperson Aspirant for Southern Division, has today delivered an impassioned message of perseverance to Christians gathered at All Saints Church Kabale during a thanksgiving service for Twins, Fathers and Mothers to twins (Salongo’s and Nalongo’s). Encouraging Christians to remain steadfast in their pursuits, Rurihoona drew from his personal experiences, highlighting the importance of resilience in overcoming life’s obstacles.
During his address, Rurihoona shared insights into his upbringing, revealing that at the time of his birth, his parents were longing to have a baby boy. “When I was born, my older sister came first, and my parents were a bit disappointed. After 3 hours, I also came,” Rurihoona said. He emphasized the value of determination and faith, urging individuals to remain committed to their goals even in the face of adversity.
The event also featured a sermon by Dorcus Ariho, a resident of Muhanga Town Council and a mother of twins(Nalongo), who centered her message on the biblical narrative of Rebecca’s longing for children and God’s eventual blessing of her with twins, Esau and Jacob, as recounted in Genesis 25:10-30. Ariho’s sermon resonated with the Christians, emphasizing themes of faith, patience, and divine providence.
The thanksgiving service served not only as a platform for spiritual reflection and celebration but also as a catalyst for community-driven efforts to enhance the infrastructure of the church, fostering a sense of unity and purpose among the congregation.
In a generous gesture towards the services cause, Rurihoona contributed 2 million Ugandan shillings towards the construction of staff houses for the church. Additionally, he presented a contribution of UGX 300,000 from Sheikh Kassim Kamugisha, demonstrating solidarity across religious lines in support of the community initiative.
