The Director of Progressive Nursery and Primary School Kitumba, Mucunguzi Innocent Rwakiseta, who is also a hopeful Member of Parliament for Rubanda West for the 2026-2031 term, urged primary seven candidates to be stewards during the upcoming Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE).
He delivered these remarks during the thanksgiving and commissioning service for the P7 candidates, held at Kiniogo Church of Uganda in Kitumba Sub-county, Kabale District.
Rwakiseta, who has supported over 200 students with scholarships and educational materials over the past eight years, encouraged the congregation to embrace education as a vital means of transforming communities and improving individual standards.
He advised the candidates to trust in the Lord and remain hopeful for positive results during the examination period.
Blessing Kyokwijuka, a lay reader at Kiniogo Church of Uganda, called on the congregation to pray for the candidates and urged parents to allow their children ample time for revision to achieve better results.
Progressive Nursery and Primary School has 33 candidates in primary seven who will sit for the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) exams starting Wednesday next week.
A total of 798,742 pupils are expected to sit for PLE exams nationwide, marking a 6.6% increase from the 749,374 candidates registered in 2023.
