The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, has called upon Christians to pray for priests, supporting them in overcoming temptations and fulfilling their priestly ministries and vocations in the Roman Catholic Church.
Bishop Rubaramira made these remarks on Sunday 28/07/2024 at Kyanamira Primary School playground in Kabale district during the thanksgiving Mass for the 37th Priestly Anniversary of Rev. Fr. Balthazar Ndyomugabe, Chaplain of Nyakibaale Hospital and Patron of the Peace and Justice Movement in Kabale Diocese.
He emphasized that regardless of the number of years a priest has served, they still need God’s gift of the Holy Spirit to guide them daily, helping them stay in the light of God and fulfill their vocation.
While preaching at the anniversary Mass, the Vicar General of Kabale Diocese, Msgr. John Vianney Sunday, praised Fr. Ndyomugabe for his generosity, care for others, and willingness to share what he has.
He explained that every impossibility, when put before God with faith and trust, becomes possible. He noted that the greatest wealth is a good heart willing to give for the benefit of others.
The Deputy Director of Internal Security Organization (ISO), Colonel Emmanuel Katabaazi, addressed the congregation as the Chief Guest.
He joined other speakers and politicians in thanking Fr. Ndyomugabe for his tireless efforts in spreading the Gospel and Christ’s teachings among his followers without segregation across all parishes and religious institutions he has served.
Fr. Balthazar Ndyomugabe expressed his gratitude to Bishop Rubaramira for taking good care of priests’ physical and spiritual lives, which has enabled them to serve God diligently within the Diocese.
He also thanked the Emeritus Bishops of the Diocese, including the late Barnabas Halemimana, who ordained him as a priest in 1987, and Bishop Robert Marie Gay, Bishop Rubaramira’s predecessor.
The 37th Priestly Anniversary thanksgiving Mass focused on raising funds to complete the House of Priests at Kyanamira Catholic Center, which is set to be inaugurated as a Catholic Parish from Rushoroza Cathedral Parish.
A total of 45,180,000 UGX was collected in cash and pledges, along with building materials such as cement, sand, and jerry cans of paint.
