Kabale Muslim District Council Hosts 3rd Women’s Seminar Focused on Empowerment

The Kabale Muslim District Council is currently hosting its 3rd Women’s Seminar under the theme “Educate a Woman, Educate the Nation.” The seminar, running from August 30th to September 1st at the Kabale Muslim District Headquarters, is dedicated to empowering women in religious, social, and economic aspects of life.

During the event, speakers like Birungyi Fatimah and Shakirah Mutesti called on the government to include Muslims in poverty alleviation programs, particularly the Parish Development Model (PDM) Program, which they argue conflicts with Islamic teachings. They also appealed to President Museveni to consider appointing more Muslim representatives to key decision-making positions.

Hajati Kamalaba Zulaiha, the Women Chairperson for Ndorwa Twaale, spoke on the importance of loving and caring for stepchildren and avoiding domestic violence, highlighting that these actions are crucial for the well-being of the Islamic community.

Kansiime Halimah, Secretary for Women and Children Affairs, emphasized the significance of maintaining proper sanitation and hygiene to prevent infections, urging women to take proactive measures to safeguard their health.

Mrs. Siifah Kaduyu, Chairperson of the Organizing Committee, encouraged women to prioritize Allah, embrace forgiveness, and practice responsible parenting. She stressed that these values are essential in fostering a harmonious and prosperous Muslim community.

The seminar continues to provide a platform for women to voice their concerns, share knowledge, and strengthen their roles in shaping the future of their communities.
