Kabale Muslim District Khadi Warns Youth Against Undermining Jobs, Expresses Concern Over Growing Criminality

The Kabale Muslim District Kadhi has issued a stern warning to the youth about the dangers of undermining available jobs, linking this behavior to a rise in criminal activities within the country.

Khadi Sheikh Kabu Lule expressed this concern during a somber ceremony held to bid farewell to the late Nuriate Katwigyi in Kagugo, Bwayu Parish, Nyamweru Sub County in Rubanda District yesterday.

Addressing mourners, Sheikh Kabu Lule expressed deep concern over the escalating rate of criminal activities occurring in broad daylight, even in the presence of surveillance cameras. He attributed much of this criminality to the youth who, in his view, underestimate and reject readily available jobs, thereby turning to unlawful means to sustain themselves.

“The high level of criminality we are witnessing is largely due to our youth undermining the jobs that are available to them,” Sheikh Kabu Lule stated. “This is a dangerous path that not only affects their future but also threatens the safety and security of our community.”

In his sermon, Sheikh Kabu Lule also praised the Rubanda District Chairperson, Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, for the district’s generous donation of land in Karengyere, Muko Sub County, intended for the construction of a new mosque.

“This donation is a significant step towards supporting the Muslim community in our district,” Sheikh Kabu Lule noted, urging the faithful to appreciate and support such initiatives.

Rubanda District LC5 Chairperson Ampeire Stephen Kasyaba, in his address, called upon the Muslim community to organize a fundraising event to gather the necessary resources for building the mosque, promising to rally support for the project. Kasyaba also revealed that the State Minister of Finance, who is also the area’s Member of Parliament Hon Henry Musasizi will contribute 100 bags of cement during that fundraising function.

The late Nuriate Katwigyi was the wife of the late Muhammad Katwigyi, who were the founders of Katwigyi Primary School in Rubanda District.
