Kabale District’s Woman MP, Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira, has stepped in to assist Amos Twikirize, a 42-year-old man who suffered severe injuries from electrocution, leading to the amputation of his left leg and arm.
Twikirize, a father of three from Rugarama Cell, Nyamuronze ward, Katuna Town Council, Kabale District, was injured while constructing a house on May 18, 2023. Despite efforts by doctors at Kabale Regional Hospital, the extent of his injuries necessitated the amputations.
Approaching MP Ndamira for help, Twikirize was promised assurances of support. Hon. Atwakiire Catherine Ndamira pledged to provide him with an Above-Knee (A.K) prosthetic leg and a Below-Elbow arm prosthetic to aid in his recovery and daily life.

Orthopedic Technician Kiwanuka Laury has already taken measurements for the prosthetics, which are expected to be ready within two weeks. Additionally, efforts are underway to secure a modernized artificial arm to facilitate Twikirize in everyday tasks, including eating.
