The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, has called on Christians to remain steadfast in their efforts to do good, emphasizing the importance of perseverance in faith and good deeds.
Bishop Akanjuna made the remarks today while officially opening the Diocesan Annual Brethren Conference held at Rugarama Convention Site in the Northern Division of Kabale Municipality. The event began at 10:24 a.m., with the bishop sharing his message derived from this year’s diocesan theme, inspired by Galatians 6:9: “Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”
Addressing the congregation, Bishop Akanjuna encouraged Christians to remain hopeful, reminding them that persistence in good works will eventually yield a divine reward. Drawing from Apostle Paul’s teachings, the bishop cautioned against abandoning good deeds due to fatigue or discouragement before the task is fulfilled.
He further urged the faithful to relinquish past burdens and cast them onto Jesus Christ, the ultimate source of hope and redemption.

Dr. Jasper Tumuhimbise, the Executive Director of the Church Commissioner’s Holding Company Limited, underscored the need for inclusivity and compassion. He encouraged Christians to embrace non-believers and those who have backslid, highlighting that God’s love extends to all, and no one knows what the future holds.
Rev. Dr. Tumuhimbise also reminded the congregation of their responsibility to uplift one another, emphasizing that Christianity is fundamentally about humanity and service to others.
