Industry State Minister Hon. David Bahati has called on the youth to reject sectarianism and instead focus on building their communities. He emphasized that unity, rather than division, is the cornerstone for national development.
In a message delivered by Kabale District LCV Vice-Chairperson Miria Akankwasa Tugume, who represented him as the chief guest at a three-day youth camp organized by the Uganda Red Cross Society at Kigezi College Butobere in Kabale Municipality, Hon. Bahati urged the youth to embrace patriotism over religious, tribal, and partisan sectarianism.
He also encouraged young people to take advantage of government-led poverty alleviation programs such as the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, and the Youth Livelihood Program. These initiatives, he said, are designed to empower youth, small enterprises, and cooperatives to drive economic development.
