Mulore High School Academy has launched a piggery project, initiated by Evelyne Ninsiima Kikafunda, President of the Green Environment Promotion (GEP). The project officially started today, aims to provide students with practical skills and a means to improve their household income.

During Kikafunda’s visit to the school on June 18, 2024, she pledged to initiate the piggery project, aiming for a multiplier effect whereby each student would receive a piglet to rear at home. This initiative prioritizes needy students, offering them a chance to earn a living and support their families.

Today, the project came to fruition as Kikafunda’s team delivered piglets to the school. Joshua Rukundo Kalyebura, the school’s managing director, highlighted the project’s significance, stating, this project will not only support the school but also benefit the students. “They will learn how to rear and manage pigs, gaining valuable skills”, He said

Kalyebura emphasized that as the project expands, priority will be given to identified needy students who will take home piglets for rearing. Students welcomed the initiative, noting its potential to help them cover school fees, registration charges, and other expenses.

Evelyne Ninsiima Kikafunda, represented by her personal assistant Francine Turyazayo during the handover, underscored the importance of responsible stewardship to ensure the project’s sustainable benefits saying that this project is for the students to manage and benefit from directly.

Kikafunda, founder of Green Environment Promotion, reiterated her commitment to aiding diverse groups through sustainable initiatives with a vision that extends to implementing projects with lasting positive impacts, aiming to foster positive change in communities.

With this steadfast dedication, Green Environment Promotion is poised to continue supporting communities through innovative and sustainable approaches, starting with the successful launch of the piggery project at Mulore High School Academy.
