During the requiem service for the late Rev. Can. Elinathan Aryeija in Butuunza, Kakoma, Katuna Town Council, Ndorwa West Constituency, Dr. Hilary Bakamwesiga Mbona, a hopeful candidate for Parliament in Ndorwa West, passionately called upon the public to prioritize planting perennial crops as the rainy season approaches, emphasizing their crucial role in preventing landslides.
Dr. Hilary underscored the significance of this initiative, particularly in regions like Kigezi, where heavy rains pose a threat to both crops and infrastructure. By planting trees, he emphasized, communities can mitigate the risk of landslides, safeguarding lives and property.

Furthermore, he raised awareness about the spread of red-eye disease in schools, urging parents, school administrators, and students to adhere to health protocols to prevent its transmission to Kigezi.
