Preparations are in high gear for the highly anticipated North Kigezi Diocese Youth and Students Convention, expected to draw over 3,000 youth from all parishes under the North Kigezi Diocese in Rukungiri District.
This was revealed yesterday morning by Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe, the North Kigezi Diocesan Bishop, during a press briefing at his residence on Kinyasano Hill in the Western Division of Rukungiri Municipality. Bishop Asiimwe emphasized that the convention aims to provide spiritual and moral transformation through well-packaged sermons delivered by preachers from Uganda and abroad.
He expressed concern over the increasing recruitment of youth into harmful practices and urged parents to allow their children to attend the convention, which he believes will renew their lives. The Bishop further appealed to parents to support their children financially, noting that each participant is required to pay UGX 25,000 to cover their welfare for the three-day event.

He praised Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe for his vision in organizing this mega youth convention aimed at guiding the youth back on the right path, which will pave the way for a brighter future.
The convention, themed “Arise and Shine,” derived from Isaiah 60:1, will be held from September 4th to 7th, 2024, at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano.
