Christians have been encouraged to support their churches while also focusing on generating income for their families to build strong, healthy households.
This message was delivered by the Diocesan Treasurer, Rev. Just Ayebare, on November 10, 2024, during a fundraising ceremony at Kirigime Church of Uganda Parish in the Acdeconary of All saints Church Kabale Diocese of Kigezi. The event aimed to help pay off a loan of over 183million incurred for purchasing a residence for the parish priest and to celebrate the sixth anniversary of the parish’s existence in Kirigime Ward, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality.
Rev. Just emphasized the importance of every Christian having sources of income to support their family, noting that a stable family requires active efforts to generate earnings. He urged the public to reflect on whether they have reliable sources of income and to avoid spending excessively on items that do not benefit them or their families financially.
Rev. Ayebare added that people should invest in resources that will support them in early retirement, providing a safety net for the future. He advised individuals to consider what they would rely on if they could no longer work or if they became ill. He suggested having assets such as potato gardens or livestock at home to help sustain them during retirement.
Rev. Just also encouraged people to participate in government programs that aim to lift them from poverty and advised them to keep faith in God in all their endeavors for success. He thanked the Christians of Kirigime Church of Uganda and other community members for their participation in the fundraising to help pay off the parish priest’s residence loan and celebrate the parish’s six-year anniversary.
