Hon. Prossy Akampurira Begumisa Mbabazi, the Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament, called on parents to take full responsibility for their children’s well-being during a fundraising drive at St. Adrian’s Seminary. The event, held to raise funds for a seminary service vehicle, saw a strong turnout from the community.

In her speech, Hon. Akampurira emphasized the critical role of parents in their children’s education. She reminded parents that while the government provides essential support for education, such as infrastructure and teacher salaries, the responsibility for school fees and scholastic materials like books, uniforms, and stationery lies with them.

“The government plays a crucial role in providing a conducive learning environment,” said Hon. Akampurira. “However, parents must fulfill their obligation to provide for their children’s educational needs. This includes paying school fees and ensuring they have the necessary materials.”

The event also featured a homily by Msgr. John Vianney Sunday, Vicar General of the Kabale Diocese, who challenged Christians to prepare their lives as temples for God and to continually call out to Jesus. He emphasized the importance of dwelling in the life of Jesus Christ and responding to God’s call.

“Reflect on your relationship with God and create a sacred space within yourselves for Him,” Msgr. Vianney urged. “Your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, and you should strive to live a life pleasing to God.”

Msgr. Vianney also encouraged believers to study the life of Jesus Christ, learn from His teachings, and develop a personal relationship with Him.
