Police in Kabale district are investigating a shocking case of assault involving Kesande Grace Bataringaya, the Rubirizi woman member of parliament, and her younger sister, Christine Charity. Both sisters are children of Generous Kabarungi and George Bitwekyera from Rwabaga cell, Kyanamira parish in Kyanamira sub-county, Kabale district.
According to Christine Charity, the MP allegedly assaulted her during a disturbing incident that left her with injuries to her forehead. Christine reported the assault at Kabale Central Police Station under SD Ref. 60/13/8/2024.
In an interview with Kigezi TV, Christine, with her head covered, recounted the events. She stated that on Tuesday evening, the MP returned home after bringing their sick mother from Kampala. While greeting their mother, Christine claims the MP pushed her away, leading to a heated exchange of insults. The altercation escalated when Kesande allegedly picked up a stick and struck Christine on the head.
“I don’t need much from the police; I just seek justice,” Christine expressed during the interview.
