Rugarama Hospital Concludes Customer Care Month with Competitve Physical Activities: Maternity Department Takes the Crown

Rugarama Hospital has today wrapped up its Customer Care Month with an energetic and competitive sports day at the Kigezi High School Primary Lower Playground in the Northern Division of Kabale Municipality. Various departments showcased their athletic prowess in a one-day event that featured relays, races, an egg-on-spoon race, sack race, tug of war, and football, among many other games.

Departments including Maternity, Dental, Art Clinic, Pediatrics, Eye, Surgical, Out Patient Department and Laboratory participated, with their overall ranking determined by a combination of scores from customer care, inventory management, records, infection control, support supervision, continuous quality improvement (CQI), and sports.

The highlight of the day was the spirited competition among hospital departments, each vying for the top spot in the fun-filled activities. After a series of exciting matches and enthusiastic participation, the Maternity Department emerged as the overall winner, earning the coveted title of champions for this year’s Sports for Customer Care Month.

Dr. Esther Rutaremwa, the Rugarama hospital medical superintendent says that the event was not only a display of physical strength and teamwork but also a testament to the hospital’s commitment to fostering a sense of community and well-being among its staff. She adds that the friendly competition and lively atmosphere brought everyone together, reinforcing the importance of customer care and team spirit.

Midwife Esther Ahumuza, representing the victorious Maternity Department, shared her thoughts on their win. “We are thrilled to have won this year’s sports day and overall of the Customer Care Month. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to bond as a team and to show our commitment to both our physical health and our patients’ well-being. Events like these remind us of the importance of teamwork and the positive impact it has on our work environment.”

The sports day marks the culmination of a month-long focus on enhancing customer care, with various activities and initiatives aimed at improving patient experience and staff morale.
