Rukiga County MP Hon. Bish Applauds Rev. Fr. John Byamukama’s Unifying and Developmental Efforts

Rukiga County Legislator Hon. Roland Ndyomugyenyi Bish has praised Rev. Fr. John Byamukama for his remarkable efforts in fostering unity and development within Bukinda Parish and the wider Rukiga District.

Hon. Ndyomugyenyi made these remarks yesterday while joining hundreds of Christians from Bukinda Parish in the Kabale Catholic Diocese at Kakatunda Playground to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Rev. Fr. Byamukama’s priesthood.

Addressing the jubilant congregation, Hon. Ndyomugyenyi commended Rev. Fr. Byamukama for his dedication to serving the community, highlighting his unwavering commitment to spiritual growth, social harmony, and infrastructural development. The legislator noted that the priest’s efforts have significantly contributed to the well-being of the people, bringing positive changes to the parish and the entire district.

“Rev. Fr. John Byamukama has been a pillar of unity and a driving force for development in Bukinda Parish. His leadership has not only strengthened the faith of many but has also brought our community together in ways we never thought possible. I extend my heartfelt congratulations on his 25 years of dedicated service in the priesthood,” Hon. Ndyomugyenyi said.

According to the function’s chairperson, John Bosco Ruhangariyo, the event marked the launch of a fundraising campaign towards the construction of a house for the Apostles of Jesus in Bukinda Parish, estimated to cost 1.5 billion shillings.

The event, which attracted Christians from various parts of the district, was marked with songs of praise, dance, and a special thanksgiving mass.

Rev. Fr. Byamukama expressed his gratitude to the community for their unwavering support throughout his 25-year journey in priesthood. He also called on Christians to continue working together for the development of their parish and the betterment of society.

Rev. Fr. Byamukama’s contributions extend beyond his pastoral duties, with notable achievements in spearheading educational initiatives, improving healthcare access, and supporting local development projects in Bukinda Parish.

Rev. Fr. Byamukama began his mission in Sirari Catholic Parish, Tanzania, in 1999. He served as a curate at Bukinda Seminary from 1999 to 2003, after which he worked as the Dean of Studies, Vice Rector, and Rector at the Apostles of Jesus Regional House, Mazzoldi House in Kampala, from 2004 to 2006.

He was a student and Local Superior at Bukinda Parish from 2008 to 2009, then served as a parish priest at the Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC) from 2009 to 2019. He is currently the Director of Education at St. Mary’s Bukinda Catholic Parish and Parish Priest, a position he has held since 2020.
