The leadership of Rukiga Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO), under the guidance of Chairman Board of Directors Rev. Ivan Muhoozi and General Manager Ms. Kabajurizi Medius, has launched an initiative to support vulnerable members within their community.
The distribution of essential items commenced at the Rwamucucu branch in Rukiga District. Speaking during the event, Ms. Kabajurizi highlighted that the program is part of the SACCO’s corporate social responsibility, aimed at appreciating members for their unwavering support despite economic challenges.
“This initiative demonstrates our commitment to uplifting the community and supporting our most vulnerable members. We encourage them to continue saving with us as we grow together,” Ms. Kabajurizi remarked.
Rev. Muhoozi emphasized that the program is an annual event, with the SACCO targeting active and loyal members across its nine branches. “Every year-end, we identify and assist five needy individuals per branch, recognizing their dedication and enthusiasm for the SACCO,” he explained.
Beneficiaries at the Rwamucucu branch, including Kamusiime Loy and Basemera Allen, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support. They praised the SACCO for its timely intervention, particularly during the festive season.
“We are overjoyed and thankful. This support comes when we needed it most, and it has saved us from worrying about where to get essential items for the holidays,” shared Kamusiime.
The Rukiga SACCO’s initiative underscores its dedication to fostering a spirit of care and mutual support within the community, further cementing its role as a pillar of economic and social development in Rukiga District.
