Former Ugandan Prime Ministers and Alumni Unite to Transform Rwere Primary School

Ruhakana Rugunda, former Prime Minister of Uganda (2014–2021), John Patrick Amama Mbabazi, former Prime Minister of Uganda (2011–2014), Amos Nzeyi, and other alumni of Rwere Primary School in Rubanda District have pledged to construct four staff houses and two classroom blocks to address the school’s critical infrastructure challenges.

The project, estimated to cost 140 million shillings, includes the construction of four staff houses at a cost of 80 million shillings and two classroom blocks costing 60 million shillings. This was announced during the school’s speech day and the top-class graduation ceremony held today, Thursday, on the school grounds.

While speaking, Sergeant Caleb Turyamutunga, the chairperson of the school management committee, stated that the alumni, led by Amos Nzeyi and others, are committed to addressing the school’s longstanding infrastructure challenges. Turyamutunga highlighted the significant issues, including the lack of staff quarters for teachers, and emphasized that the new classroom blocks will provide pupils with a conducive learning environment.

He also mentioned that this is not the first time the alumni have supported the school. Previously, they renovated the school’s infrastructure, which is now in good condition.
