Hon. Sheikh Kassim Kamugisha, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (D/RDC) of Wakiso District, today donated a variety of sports equipment to the Karubanda Sports Legends in Kabale Municipality.
His donation included a high-quality netball, two pairs of netball uniforms, two netballs, and other essential sports materials.
The handover ceremony took place at St. Paul’s Seminary in Karubanda, Southern Division, Kabale Municipality, where the items were received by the Deputy Speaker of Kabale District, Ian Ronald Mugisha, alongside members of the Karubanda Football Legends team, led by their chairperson.
While presenting the items, Sheikh Kassim encouraged the players to practice consistently to maintain good health, likening a person’s life to a car engine that requires regular oil changes to function effectively. He emphasized the importance of physical exercise, stating that regular activity and sweating are crucial for a fit and healthy body.
As a hopeful Member of Parliament for Kabale Municipality, Sheikh Kassim further advised against neglecting physical exercise, which he said could lead to obesity and non-communicable diseases. He urged the team to uphold discipline and to avoid or minimize alcohol consumption, smoking, and other habits that could harm their health and character.

Twine Alfred Magezi, chairperson of Karubanda Sports Legends, expressed gratitude to Sheikh Kassim for his generous support. He commended Sheikh Kassim’s dedication and pledged the team’s support in his future endeavours, particularly his political aspirations.
Twine also encouraged his team to increase their training efforts and bring renewed energy to their football and netball matches.
