Sheikh Kassim emphasized the importance of unity among Christians, particularly in politics. He encouraged them to actively participate in shaping their communities, stressing that identity-based politics should be avoided.
“There is no such thing as poverty for Muslims or Christians alone. Poverty has no religion. If you don’t work, regardless of your faith, you will be poor,” Sheikh Kassim stated.
He urged Christians to focus on leaders who can provide practical solutions to the country’s challenges, rather than making decisions based on religious or sectarian affiliations.
Sheikh Kassim also encouraged Christians to embrace government initiatives aimed at improving household incomes and livelihoods. He highlighted programs such as the Presidential Initiative on Job and Wealth Creation, *Emyooga*, and the Parish Development Model (PDM) as valuable opportunities for economic empowerment.
Rev. Kabagabe Robert, the parish priest of St. Andrew’s Nyabikoni Church, speaking to the Christians, urged them to work together and unite
