Kacerere Archdeaconry’s Ven. Johnson Mushabe has called on married couples to live exemplary lives, expressing concern over the growing number of people losing faith in marriage due to the behavior of some couples.
Ven. Mushabe made these remarks on August 17th, 2024, during the wedding ceremony of Philip Kwetonda Kasigeire, the Chairperson of Rutoma Village, and his bride, Enid Kwetonda, held at Kacerere Archdeaconry in Rubanda West.
In his address, Ven. Mushabe emphasized the importance of trust, compassion, and mutual respect in building strong families. He warned that the negative behaviors of some married couples were causing a decline in the institution of marriage, with more women opting out of it.
The reception, held in Rutoma Village, saw Ninsiima Evelyn Kikafunda, President of Green Environment Promotion and an aspiring candidate for Rubanda District’s Parliamentary seat in 2026, delivering a heartfelt message to the newlyweds.
Kikafunda stressed the significance of love, unity, and respect, urging the couple to make these values the cornerstone of their marriage.
In addition to her message, Kikafunda officially announced her candidacy for the 2026 Parliamentary elections, adding a political tone to the joyous occasion.
