The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, has urged Christians to seek forgiveness and second chances from their creator whenever they stray from the path of righteousness.
The bishop made this call while officiating the confirmation service at St Peter’s Buranga Church of Uganda parish in Kamuganguzi Sub County Of Kabale district where 50 Christians were confirmed into Anglican church faith. In his sermon, Bishop Akanjuna emphasized the importance of faith and repentance in a Christian’s life. He reminded the Christians that just as God forgives His creatures, Christians should also strive to forgive one another and seek redemption when they make mistakes.
Bishop Akanjuna encouraged Christians to live their lives according to God’s will and to spread love and kindness wherever they go. He urged them to be agents of positive change in their communities by embodying the teachings of Jesus Christ. He also emphasized on the importance of living a righteous life and avoiding practices that go against the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The bishop further challenged women to use their gifts and talents for the betterment of their families and communities, rather than resorting to harmful practices. He reminded them that witchcraft is considered an abomination in the eyes of God and can have negative consequences not only for individuals but also for the entire church community.
Furthermore, Bishop Akanjuna highlighted the crucial role that parents play in nurturing and guiding their children’s spiritual journey. He reminded them that as Christians, it is essential to pass on the teachings of Jesus Christ to future generations urging them to guide and mentor the newly confirmed Christians, emphasizing the importance of spiritual guidance in their lives.
