Bubaare Archdeacon Ven. Mwesigwa Champions Virtue for Family Success at Mother’s Union Festival

Ven. Oscar Mwesigwa, the Archdeacon of Bubaare Archdeaconry in the Diocese of Kigezi, has called on women in the Kigezi Region to embody virtue for the success of their families. His message was delivered today, August 17, 2024, at St. James Bubaare Church of Uganda during the Mother’s Union Music, Dance, and Drama Festival Games, an event focused on recognizing and celebrating virtuous women.

In his address, Ven. Oscar emphasized the importance of virtues such as integrity and compassion in personal growth and the development of strong, resilient families. He noted that these qualities are essential in fostering positive relationships within families and communities.

“A virtuous woman plays a critical role in the well-being of her family. She raises good children, supports a good husband, and contributes to a harmonious and well-functioning household,” Ven. Oscar stated.

During the event, Rev. Deborah Tumushabe, a Mother’s Union worker in the Diocese of Kigezi, also spoke, urging women to focus on building their families. She highlighted the unique role women play in organizing and nurturing their homes.

“While a man can build a house, it is a woman who turns it into a home,” Rev. Deborah remarked. She encouraged the women present to reflect on the significance of virtue in their roles within their families.

Mrs. Susan Buhingi, the leader of the Mother’s Union at St. James Bubaare Church of Uganda parish, expressed gratitude to her fellow members for their active participation in the festival. She highlighted the importance of such events in celebrating and promoting the values of virtuous women in the community.

The festival, which drew a large number of participants and spectators, showcased performances that emphasized the virtues of women, reinforcing the message that these qualities are foundational to the success of families and communities.
