Addressing the congregation, Bishop Akanjuna emphasized the importance of adhering to the Holy Spirit, highlighting that obedience to divine guidance is crucial for making sound decisions. “To abide by the Holy Spirit means to live and act according to the will and power of the Lord,” he stated. “This obedience is essential for receiving the guidance and protection we need in our daily lives.”

The service, attended by students from Kabale Institute of Health Sciences, Kabale School of Comprehensive Nursing and Rugarama School of Nursing and Midwifery as well as members of administration, served as both a spiritual encouragement and a solemn reminder of the role of faith in the educational journey.

“Be obedient to the Holy Spirit,” Bishop Akanjuna urged. “It is through this obedience that we can navigate the complexities of life with the assurance that we are under divine protection and guidance.”

Bishop Akanjuna invoked the story of the Uganda Martyrs, who were killed during the regime of Kabaka Mwanga for steadfastly standing firm in their faith. He called on Christians to emulate the martyrs’ unwavering commitment by being firm and shunning sin. “Let us recognize sin as sin and avoid it,” he urged. “The example of the martyrs teaches us to never denounce our God, even in the face of persecution.”

Speaking at the same function, Catherine Atuhere, the Principal of Rugarama School of Nursing and Midwifery, and Philip Agaba, an Administrator at Rugarama Hospital, also addressed the students. They called on the students to work hard and be prayerful to pass their exams with flying colors. “Dedication to your studies and faith will lead you to success,” Atuhere advised. Agaba added, “Combining hard work with prayer will help you achieve the best results in your exams.”
