The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna, urged Christians to follow the example of the Uganda Martyrs by having unwavering faith in the Lord God, rather than relying on earthly leaders.
He made these remarks today during the church service at St. Peter’s Cathedral Rugarama in the northern division of Kabale municipality. Bishop Akanjuna emphasized that Christians should not place their trust in worldly leaders or temporal powers, but should instead look to God as the ultimate source of strength and guidance.
He encouraged Christians to emulate the selflessness and unwavering faith of the Uganda Martyrs and to remain steadfast in their belief, no matter the challenges they may face.
“Let us learn from the Uganda Martyrs, whose faith did not waver even in the face of death. They are a reminder that our ultimate trust and allegiance should be to God, who is our eternal protector and guide,” Bishop Akanjuna stated passionately.

In his sermon derived from Exodus 1:8, The Right Reverend Jonathan Smith, Bishop based in Florida, United States of America, urged Christians to deepen their faith and trust in God, emphasizing the importance of living a life that pleases the divine. He urged Christians to remain steadfast in their commitment to God.
Bishop Smith also emphasized the importance of parents taking an active role in guiding and advising their children. He stated that parents are the primary source of guidance and support for their children, and it is their responsibility to ensure their children are well-equipped to face the challenges of the world.
He encouraged parents to be involved in their children’s lives, to listen to their concerns, and to offer guidance and advice when needed.
