In a bid to ensure the continued empowerment of youth in Rubanda District, Eric Ssewandigi, the Deputy Resident District Commissioner (DRDC), has rallied graduates of the Kigezi Zonal Industrial Hub Presidential Initiative to capitalize on various government programs. He emphasized the need for strategic positioning to access initiatives such as the Parish Development Model PDM, Youth Livelihood Programs, and Emyooga among others.
Addressing a gathering of 56 graduates from Rubanda District at the Rubanda Town Council Headquarters, Ssewandigi expressed concerns about the potential waste of talent and resources if the beneficiaries fail to leverage the opportunities presented by government schemes. He emphasized the significance of not letting the acquired skills go to waste but rather utilizing them for personal and community development.
“The government has invested in your skills and future through programs like the Kigezi Zonal Industrial Hub Presidential Initiative,” Ssewandigi emphasized. “It would be a disservice to both yourselves and the government if you do not seize the available opportunities to uplift your lives and contribute to the development of Rubanda District.”
Ssewandigi highlighted the importance of proactive engagement, encouraging the graduates to actively seek out information and support for accessing government programs. He reiterated the commitment of local authorities to support and guide the youth in navigating the bureaucratic processes involved in accessing these initiatives.
In response to Ssewandigi’s call, the graduates expressed their determination to make the most of the opportunities afforded to them. They acknowledged the significance of the guidance provided by the Deputy RDC and pledged to actively engage with government programs for their personal growth and the overall development of Rubanda District.
