Former Kabale Municipality MP Andrew Aja Donates Sports Wears to UCC Kabale Ahead of Inter-College Competitions.

In a gesture of support for sports development, former Kabale Municipality Member of Parliament, Baryayanga Andrew Aja, has donated four full sets of sports wears to Uganda College of Commerce (UCC) Kabale. The timely contribution comes just ahead of the UCC Inter-College competitions scheduled from the 10th to the 19th of this month in Kabale.

The donation, consisting of two football kits for both girls and boys, as well as two full kits for volleyball and netball, was delivered by a team led by Mr. Mutabazi Sam, alongside Tumukunde Keneth and Julius Ndemere.

Expressing gratitude for the donation, the Principal of Uganda College of Commerce Kabale, Mr. Nuwagira Bernard, highlighted the college’s previous shortage of football jerseys, footballs, and other necessary equipment.

“We have been lacking football jerseys, footballs, and other equipment,” said Nuwagira Bernard, emphasizing the significance of the timely donation from Hon. Andrew Baryayanga Aja, who is aspiring for the Kabale Municipality seat in 2026. Nuwagira emphasized that the donation would motivate students to participate with determination, aiming for victory in the upcoming competitions.

Furthermore, he revealed that students would be participating in various games including football, athletics, volleyball, and netball.

Scarlet Ninshaba, the Vice Guild President at UCC Kabale, echoed Nuwagira’s sentiments, expressing gratitude for the donation as the college’s existing sportswear had worn out due to daily training, raising concerns about their ability to participate.

Hon. Andrew Baryayanga Aja, represented by his team led by Mutabazi Sam, estimated the value of the donated sports wears to be approximately 10 million Ugandan Shillings. He also urged the public to embrace sports, emphasizing its importance in fostering holistic development.

The generous donation from Hon. Andrew Baryayanga Aja is not only a boost to UCC Kabale but also signifies a commitment to promoting sports and youth development within the community. As the Inter-College competitions draw near, students are now equipped and motivated to give their best on the field, aiming to bring home trophies and honor to their college.
